Last Class

We are at the end of the week. Here are the things we will do to finish up:

• Check each other's blog



• Chat about how you figured out which website was real, and how hard it is to tell just by looking at a site



• Get a Gcast account if you don't have one



• Finish and post your videos



• Watch videos on the projector and eat some pizza



• Oh yeah.........Itunes cards to those that finished the challenge!

Fourth class

Here is the agenda for the day:

1. Check out each other's blog
2. Final chance to chat about finding the true website
3. Try again to upload a slideshow using slideshare.net
4. Individually create a Gcast while others work on their video
5. Discuss what your final challenge will be to earn an Itunes gift certificate (check your gmail account)

Third class

All of you should view each other's blog and make a comment. After this we will discuss Google Gadgets. You will then create an account on slideshare.net which you will use to upload a Powerpoint slide show. The last thing we do will be to create an account with Gcast. The end of the day will be for you to start working on your video.

Second Class

We will start today by looking at each other's blogs. You need to go to each one and leave at least one comment. It should be positive or constructive. We are also going to chat about your video project. Other people may be able to give you some good ideas or help with making the video. The large part of the day will be working with images. We will take some pictures, and then edit them using Powerpoint and Photoshop Elements. You will also learn about Picassa by Google. This is an image organizer, but it also allows you to save your files on the internet and share them with other people. If there is time I will also have you start a Gcast account so you can create podcasts to put on your blog like mine. Remember that internet safety is something to always think about.

First Class

Howdy Gang,

Today is our first day to learn a little about Web 2.0, and what social networking is all about. My goal is for you to think about using the internet safely, to learn some new ways of how the internet is changing how we communicate, and most of all to have some fun. We will get started by creating a google account, if you don't already have one, and starting your own blog. After that I will introduce you to a challenge. If you are successful you can earn $10. As the week goes along you will work with images, sounds, and ways to create videos. All of this can be placed on your blog. We will start each day by looking at what the other people in the class have created and discovered. You will end the day by commenting on my blog about class. Naturally we will be eating ice cream along the way with some other tasty treats. We will take a break each day to get a little exercise too. Have Fun!
